Role Purpose:

This role involves managing client relationships, coordinating audit teams, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with firm and regulatory standards. You will serve as the key liaison between clients, partners, and third-party auditors driving efficiency, accuracy, and trusted advisory support across all engagements.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit Leadership and Management

Manage and deliver end-to-end audit engagements, including planning, directing fieldwork, and reviewing files to ensure completion within budget and deadlines. This will include working alongside the partner.

  • Client Relationship Management

Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure high-quality service. This includes liaising with clients to understand their business, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities for additional services.

  • Third-party Relationship Management

The Firm undertakes outsourced finance function activity, lead and manage the dialogue with external auditors to ensure the overall audit process is completed efficiently and within agreed timelines and budgets.

  • Technical Standards Compliance

Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and detailed audit reports, ensuring they comply with UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant UK and International Auditing Standards.

  • Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure all audit work adheres to the firm's risk management and quality control procedures, as well as external regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting / finance or ideally qualified in ICASL / ICAEW / ACCA.
  • Overall, 5 - 8 years of accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years in UK accounting.
  • Leading and managing statutory audits for a range of client types and sizes under UK GAAP and International Auditing Standards.
  • Exposure in preparing / reviewing tax returns, and detailed audit reports complying with UK GAAP / FRS102 and IFRS.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and analytical skills.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel with working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
  • Competency in audit software (preferably CaseWare).
  • Good to have: Experience in UK Tax / Self-assessment Tax and competency in CCH / TaxCalc software.
  • Added advantage: Handling management accounts within the bridging finance or lending sector.
