The Job
The individual will play a key academic role in delivering high-quality teaching and supporting the academic development of the institution. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, delivering, and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate modules in alignment with academic standards and programme requirements.
- Leading curriculum development, academic innovation, and programme reviews to ensure relevance, rigour, and industry alignment.
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, providing scholarly mentorship and fostering strong research cultures within the department.
- Engaging in high-quality research, publications, and scholarly activities that contribute to the institution’s academic reputation.
- Providing academic leadership through committee participation, mentoring junior academic staff, and contributing to quality assurance and accreditation processes.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished academic with strong subject matter expertise, research capability, and a commitment to student success. The person should possess:
- A PhD in the relevant discipline, with a strong academic and research profile supported by publications or equivalent scholarly output.
- Proven experience with at least 6 years in teaching at tertiary level, demonstrating excellence in pedagogy, learner engagement, and assessment practices.
- Experience in research supervision, curriculum development, and academic administration.
- Strong communication, presentation, and academic writing skills, with the ability to guide and inspire diverse learners.
- A collaborative and collegial approach, with the ability to contribute to departmental development, institutional growth, and industry engagement.
