Job Role:

The Junior High School Principal is responsible for leading the overall academic, operational, and spiritual development of the Junior High School (SMP) unit. This includes ensuring effective curriculum implementation, teacher performance, student discipline, parent communication, and school facility readiness. The role requires strong coordination with the School Coordinator and other administrative teams to maintain and improve the school’s educational standards in alignment with Christian values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of the national curriculum and internal academic standards.
  • Supervise teacher lesson plans, assessments, instructional quality, and teaching strategies.
  • Lead student learning evaluation, academic progress monitoring, and remediation programs.
  • Ensure compliance with academic policies and accreditation requirements.
  • Manage daily school operations, including scheduling, student affairs, discipline, and event coordination.
  • Ensure facilities, classrooms, and learning environments meet safety and readiness standards.
  • Oversee administrative processes, exams, reporting, documentation, and compliance at the SMP level.
  • Coordinate school programs, assemblies, extracurricular activities, and academic events.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate teachers to improve instructional quality and classroom discipline.
  • Conduct performance reviews, classroom observations, coaching, and professional development.
  • Assist in teacher recruitment, placement, and competency development as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, discipline, and school programs.
  • Handle escalations, parent meetings, and conflict resolution with diplomacy and firmness.
  • Strengthen parent partnerships to support the school’s mission.
  • Guide student character, spiritual growth, and discipline in alignment with Christian values.
  • Manage adolescent behavioral issues with empathy, firmness, and appropriate intervention strategies.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant fields. Certification for school leadership (e.g., Diklat Cakep) required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in education, including 2–3 years as Vice Principal or equivalent leadership role at secondary school level or higher.
  • Technical & Professional Competencies: Experience in school operations, teacher supervision, curriculum implementation, and student affairs. Strong understanding of adolescent development and behavior management. Strategic thinker, adaptable to curriculum changes and education technology. Innovative and proactive in academic or operational improvements.
  • Personality & Character: Eager to help and service-oriented. Trustworthy and high integrity. Courteous and respectful.
  • Other Qualities: Clean track record and ability to serve as a moral role model. Comfortable working in and supporting Christian values.
  • Language: Proficient in English for professional and academic communication.
