The Job
- Provide academic leadership for the Biomedical Engineering department, overseeing curriculum development, programme quality, and compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
- Lead and deliver teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate modules, ensuring high academic standards and an engaging learning experience.
- Drive research, innovation, and industry engagement initiatives that enhance the department’s visibility, relevance, and contribution to the institution.
- Supervise academic staff, mentor junior lecturers, manage workload allocations, and support continuous professional development.
- Oversee laboratory facilities, safety processes, equipment procurement, and the integration of practical, research, and industry-driven learning experiences.
The Person
- Holds a PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification in Biomedical Engineering, , or a closely related discipline, with a strong academic and research background.
- Demonstrates excellent teaching skills, with experience in curriculum design, assessment, and modern pedagogical approaches.
- Has a proven track record of research publications, grant acquisition, or industry collaboration in biomedical engineering.
- Possess strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to guide teams, manage resources, and foster a collaborative academic culture.
- Shows commitment to student success, innovation, ethical practice, and the continuous development of academic programmes aligned with industry needs.
