Role Purpose:
The Inventory Officer is responsible for managing brand inventory and ensuring merchandise is ordered in line with branch and company requirements. This role plays a key part in maintaining optimal stock levels, tracking inventory movements, and supporting profitability through accurate costing and efficient stock management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor branch inventory to maintain accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Order merchandise based on branch needs and company guidelines.
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Oversee inventory audits and cyclic counts to identify variances or losses, and implement corrective actions as per SOP.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory movements.
- Prepare and reconcile stock take reports in accordance with the stock take checklist.
- Has strong retail knowledged of Hardware Products and experience in supply chain and or logistics management or previous experience.
- Ensure products are sold under correct SKUs, costing, and GP margins.
- Clear pending purchase orders and resolve discrepancies with suppliers or distribution centers within set timelines.
- Report on damaged, aged, or obsolete stock and recommend solutions.
- Coordinate with HODs, managers, and category teams regarding back orders and supplier issues.
- Uphold company SOPs for inventory management and documentation, including credit notes, delivery books, and GI books.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management. or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in inventory management, stock control, or warehouse operations.
- Proven experience in inventory systems (e.g., Pronto Xi, SAP or similar ERP softwares).
- Familiarity with cycle counts, stocktake procedures, and variance analysis.
Skill and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem -solving skills for identifying inventory discrepencies.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools for inventory tracking.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
- Ability to work under pressure and meets strict timelines.
- Good communications and coordination skills for liasing with suppliers and internal teams.
Other requirement:
- Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inventory management.
- Understanding of costings, SKU's manahgement, and GP margins.
- Has high level of integrity and accountability.
