The Assistant Branch Manager plays a key role in supporting smooth retail operations. This includes maintaining accurate inventory records, promptly identifying and resolving issues, overseeing staff, and assisting with customer service on the shop floor. In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager will take full responsibility for overseeing the branch’s operations.
Responsibilities:
- Support branch operations, focusing on sales and growth and customer satisfaction.
- Overseeing merchandising and visual displays to drive sales. Maintain price tickets/bar codes on all stocks and merchandises on the shop floor.
- Conduct price comparison to ensure Branch is competitive on a monthly basis.
- Manage inventory at branch, stock replenishment and stocktakes. Working closely with stock controllers and GIA clerks.
- Lead and develop sales team to meet targets. (HOD’s). Managing and planning of corporate sales teams. (B2B visitation) and analyse sales date to inform decisions.
- Monitoring sales staff to maintain company standards in providing excellence customer services. Monitoring staff presentation (Be in uniforms).
- Overseeing various areas of the store including back gate area (Dispatch, Warehouse). Coordination of deliveries on timely manner.
- Submitting back-order reports to branch managers, buyers, and senior managers.
- Maintenance check of the company vehicles/Forklift. (Millage, servicing, fitness).
- Checking of all SA’s, store use, damage goods, tint registers in paint departments.
- Ordering of stocks with branch managers on all fast sellers.
- Ensuring cashiers are on time to operate.
- Maintain of Health and Safety at workplace.
- Should perform any other assigned duties by branch manager and reports to branch manager.
- Applicants must be Hagen based and or willing to relocate.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field.
- Proven 3 -5 years or more of managerial experience, or a similar role.
- Proven experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or similar position.
- Familiarity with financial and customer service principals.
- Leadership, organizational abilities and a people person.
- Proactive approach and knack for solving problems.
General Skills:
- Proven experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or similar position.
- Experience with recruiting and performance evaluation processes.
- Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.
- Good math skills with ability to create and analyse reports, spreadsheets and sales statistics.
- Proficient user of MS Office.
- Leadership, organizational abilities, and a people person.
- Problem solving attitude.
- Flexibility to work in shifts
