The Project Management Officer (PMO) supports and governs large-scale retail banking transformation initiatives, acting as a key business consulting partner to ensure disciplined project execution across Asset Management, Digital Transformation, and Customer Onboarding programs. The role serves as a critical coordination point between Business Analysts (BA), Project Managers (PM), technology teams, and global stakeholders, ensuring robust project governance, risk management, and regulatory alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Governance & PMO Leadership:
• Define, implement, and enforce project governance frameworks, methodologies, and controls aligned with global banking standards
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards
• Prepare materials for Steering Committees, Executive Sponsors, and Governance Boards
• Drive stage-gate reviews, approvals, and project health assessments
PMO & Project Delivery Support:
• Provide PMO leadership across multiple retail banking transformation programs
• Support Project Managers in managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, and resources
• Act as a central coordinator between Business Analysts, Project Managers, IT, Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams
• Track milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across global workstreams
Project Risk & Issue Management:
• Lead project risk management activities including identification, assessment, mitigation, and escalation
• Maintain RAID logs and ensure timely resolution of issues
• Proactively identify delivery risks related to regulatory compliance, data, technology, and operations
Digital Transformation Initiatives:
• Support digital banking, core banking modernization, workflow automation, and data initiatives
• Ensure alignment between business requirements, solution design, and delivery timelines
• Support Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models across global teams
Asset Management & Customer Onboarding:
• Provide PMO oversight for Asset Management initiatives, including system upgrades, operational transformation, and reporting enhancements
• Support Customer Onboarding and KYC transformation projects, ensuring regulatory adherence and improved customer experience
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver onboarding process optimization and digital enablement
Stakeholder & Global Engagement:
• Manage communication across global, regional, and local stakeholders
• Prepare executive-level status reports, dashboards, and presentations
• Facilitate workshops, governance forums, and cross-border collaboration
Required Skills & Competencies:
Banking & Domain Expertise:
• Strong experience in Retail Banking with exposure to Global Banking environments
• Good understanding of Asset Management, Customer Onboarding, and regulatory frameworks
• Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation programs
Project & PMO Expertise:
• Advanced knowledge of project governance, PMO frameworks, and risk management
• Hands-on experience coordinating complex, multi-workstream projects
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies
Tools & Reporting:
• Proficiency in PM tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Clarity, or similar
• Advanced skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and executive reporting
Soft Skills:
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively across cultures and global time zones
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, IT, or a related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in PMO / PM Officer / Project Coordination roles within Retail or Global Banking
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile (CSM/SAFe), or PMO certifications preferred
Preferred Experience:
• Experience working in global transformation programs for Tier-1 banks
• Exposure to regulatory-driven change, audits, and governance committees
• Prior consulting experience with Big 4 or management consulting firms
