We’re looking for a skilled Short-Form Video Editor who understands attention, pacing, and storytelling, not someone who just cuts long footage into random clips.

This role is for editors who know how to engineer scroll-stopping content and turn moments into high-performing short videos across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

What You’ll Do

• Edit short-form videos that are optimized for retention and rewatchability
• Identify high-impact moments from raw footage (not just timestamps)
• Craft strong hooks in the first 1–3 seconds
• Structure clips for maximum engagement
• Add captions, on-screen text, emojis, zooms, b-roll, and sound effects with intention
• Adapt edits for platform-specific formats and trends
• Iterate quickly based on performance feedback and creative direction
• Deliver consistently, on time, and at volume

Required Skills We’re specifically looking for editors who can demonstrate:

• Hook & Retention Psychology You understand why people stop scrolling and how to keep them watching.
• Pacing & Rhythm You know when to speed up, slow down, cut tight, or let moments breathe.
• Captioning That Adds Value You write captions that clarify, emphasize, or amplify, and not just transcribe.
• Visual Hierarchy You know how to guide the viewer’s eye using framing, text placement, and motion.
• Proficiency in Editing Software Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar (tool matters less than outcome).

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience editing creator, podcast, or founder-led content
• Motion graphics or kinetic typography basics
• Understanding of analytics (retention curves, watch time, hook drop-offs)
• Trend awareness without being trend-dependent
