Position Overview

Immediate Hiring! We are looking for a highly driven AI Engineer to join the Twist Digital team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and enjoys building intelligent systems from idea → prototype → MVP → real-world deployment.

As an AI Engineer, you will work closely with founders, product owners, backend engineers, and designers to build AI-powered products—including conversational agents, automation systems, and intelligent platforms. Your responsibility is to design, build, and iterate on AI-driven features while ensuring performance, scalability, and real-world usability.

This role is perfect for someone with hands-on AI/ML or LLM experience who wants to move beyond experiments and build real products that users and businesses rely on.

Key Responsibilities

AI System Design & Development

• Design and build AI-powered features such as conversational agents, automation workflows, and intelligent decision systems.
• Integrate LLMs, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and other AI APIs into production systems.
• Develop AI pipelines for processing, understanding, and generating data (text, voice, structured data).
• Optimize AI workflows for latency, cost efficiency, and scalability.

LLM & Conversational AI Engineering

• Build prompt frameworks, memory systems, and tool integrations for AI agents.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) using vector databases and knowledge bases.
• Design conversational flows and fallback logic for AI agents.
• Continuously improve AI accuracy, reliability, and safety.

Integration & Backend Collaboration

• Work closely with backend engineers to integrate AI components into APIs, dashboards, and real-time systems.
• Support real-time AI streaming (voice/chat) and session management.
• Ensure AI components are production-ready and aligned with system architecture.

Experimentation & Iteration

• Rapidly prototype AI features and validate product ideas.
• Run experiments on model performance, prompting strategies, and user behavior.
• Turn research and prototypes into scalable MVP features.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Document AI system architecture, workflows, and best practices.
• Share insights with product and engineering teams to guide AI-driven product decisions.

Qualifications

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or software engineering (startup or project-heavy roles are acceptable).
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or open-source models).
• Experience building AI-powered applications or automation systems.
• Familiarity with deploying models or AI services in production environments.

Skills

• Strong programming skills in Python or JavaScript/Node.js.
• Experience with AI frameworks, APIs, or ML tooling.
• Understanding of embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval systems.
• Knowledge of backend integration, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to break down complex AI problems into practical engineering tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and experimentation mindset.

Bonus Skills (Added Advantage)

• Experience with speech-to-text and text-to-speech systems (Whisper, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, etc.).
• Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma).
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure AI services.
• Knowledge of MLOps, model deployment, or cost optimization strategies.
• Experience building AI agents, automation pipelines, or SaaS AI features.
• Interest in startups, rapid experimentation, and AI-first product development.
