At Emerald International (Pvt) Ltd, part of Emerald – Sri Lanka’s No. 1 Menswear Brand with over 70 years of excellence – we are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and results-driven Senior Merchandiser to join our Merchandising Team at the Emerald Head Office – Makumbura.

This role requires a strong leader who can independently handle buyer accounts, drive production timelines, and ensure seamless coordination from order confirmation to shipment.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage buyer accounts from order confirmation to final shipment.
• Lead and supervise Assistant Merchandisers and coordinate daily merchandising activities.
• Prepare and manage Time & Action (T&A) plans to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with sourcing, production, planning, quality, and logistics teams.
• Monitor fabric and trim development, approvals, and bulk production status.
• Handle costing, price negotiations, and margin analysis.
• Ensure all technical packs, approvals, and documentation are properly maintained.
• Conduct risk analysis and proactively resolve production or delivery issues.
• Maintain strong communication with buyers, providing timely updates and reports.
• Ensure quality standards and compliance requirements are consistently met.

🔹 Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Merchandising, Apparel Management, Textile Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar capacity within the apparel industry.
• Strong knowledge of garment production processes, fabric sourcing, trims, and value additions.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills (English essential).
• Strong knowledge of fabric types, printing, embroidery, and finishing processes.
• Sound understanding of costing, planning, and order management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and merchandising tools.
• Strong analytical, time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and delivery performance.
