🔎 AVAILABLE POSITION - OPTOMETRIST
The Optometrist is responsible for delivering full‑scope eye care, including comprehensive eye examinations, accurate diagnosis of visual and ocular conditions, and the dispensing of tailored optical prescriptions. The role extends to hands‑on technical work such as lens fitting, workshop‑based lens fabrication, and frame repairs, ensuring patients receive both clinical excellence and high‑quality optical products. In addition, the Optometrist plays a key role in educating patients on preventive eye health and supporting the overall enhancement of vision care services.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry or equivalent recognised qualification.
Valid professional registration and practising licence with the appropriate health authority.
Certification in diagnostic pharmaceuticals or therapeutic management (desirable).
Additional training in optical dispensing, contact lenses, or vision therapy is an advantage.
Skills
Strong clinical skills in conducting comprehensive eye examinations and diagnosing ocular conditions.
Proficiency in optical dispensing, lens selection, frame measurements, and product recommendations.
Hands‑on technical competency in lens fitting, adjustments, frame repairs, and workshop‑based optical fabrication.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly educate patients on eye health and preventive care.
High attention to detail, accuracy in prescriptions, and commitment to clinical quality standards.
Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to build trust and ensure a positive patient experience.
Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
Sound computer literacy for clinical record keeping, optical equipment operation, and digital reporting.
Experience
Minimum 1–3 years' experience as a practising Optometrist (new graduates may be considered depending on capability).
Experience in full‑scope optometry including refraction, ocular health assessment, and vision screening.
Previous exposure to optical dispensing, contact lens fitting, or optical workshop operations is highly desirable.
Experience working in a retail optical environment or fast‑paced clinical setting is an added advantage.
