AWS Security Analyst
Our client seeking an experienced AWS Security Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing security assessments, audits, and assurance checks within the AWS cloud environment. This role requires expertise in identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security best practices, and ensuring the ongoing protection of cloud-based infrastructure and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular security audits, assessments, and assurance checks on AWS environments.
- Monitor AWS security configurations, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security Groups, VPCs, and CloudTrail.
- Implement and enforce AWS security best practices across the organization.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and recommend remediations to strengthen security posture.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and relevant data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate security into AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, providing root cause analysis and recommendations for resolution.
- Stay updated on the latest AWS security services, tools, and techniques, and implement them as necessary.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures specific to AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Provide security guidance and support to internal teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Security Analyst, with a focus on AWS cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of AWS security services (e.g., IAM, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF).
- Familiarity with security compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
- Experience with security tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM systems, and cloud security posture management tools.
- AWS certifications (AWS Certified Security – Specialty or equivalent) are a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automation tools such as AWS Lambda and CloudFormation for security automation.
- Knowledge of container security within AWS environments (e.g., ECS, EKS).
- Hands-on experience with incident response in AWS environments.
