Job Role:

The Business Translator serves as a strategic bridge between the Chinese Executive Management and the Indonesian operational landscape. This role goes beyond literal translation; it requires a deep understanding of corporate diplomacy, legal frameworks, and mining industry dynamics. You will facilitate high-stakes communications, ensure the integrity of cross-border legal agreements, and support the management in navigating the Indonesian regulatory environment to achieve the company’s expansion goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Executive Interpretation: Provide professional simultaneous or consecutive interpretation during high-level executive meetings, board of director sessions, and vendor negotiations.
• Technical & Legal Translation: Translate and review complex business documents, including mining partnership contracts, legal agreements, tender documents, and technical engineering reports from Mandarin to Indonesian/English and vice versa.
• Strategic Market Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on the Indonesian mining industry, government policies, and competitor dynamics; prepare comprehensive analysis reports to support management's strategic decision-making.
• Business Development Support: Contribute to the formulation of annual business targets and work plans for the Indonesian market; monitor the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular optimization recommendations.
• Negotiation & Contract Monitoring: Participate actively in project negotiation processes and contract signings. Monitor the execution phase of contracts to ensure all parties comply with the translated business clauses and legal obligations.
• Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as a primary liaison between the Jakarta headquarters and the site team in Konawe, ensuring that management directives are clearly communicated and technical field reports are accurately translated for the expatriate directors.
• Stakeholder Management: Support coordination with government authorities and external partners, ensuring all bilingual correspondence maintains the highest level of professionalism and cultural nuance.

Candidate Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferably from a top Chinese university).
• Experience: ≥3 years in cross-border business liaison, contract management, or professional translation within a Chinese corporation; experience in nickel mining or construction is a plus.
• Skills & Expertise: Strong knowledge of contracts, legal terms, and corporate risk; proactive, communicative, and able to work in a fast-paced mining project environment.
• Languages: Near-native Mandarin (HSK 5/6) and professional English.
