Client Overview:
Our client is a leading ICT distribution and technology services provider established in 2004 and part of a Fortune Global 500 technology group. Headquartered in mainland China with regional hubs across Southeast Asia, the company plays a strategic role in connecting global technology manufacturers with local enterprise ecosystems, enabling advanced ICT solutions to reach rapidly developing markets.
As a premium master distributor, the organization manages a broad portfolio of ICT products including cloud computing infrastructure, enterprise servers, networking hardware, and specialized software. Serving system integrators, corporate enterprises, and government contractors, the company operates under a “Consultant + Distributor” model—going beyond traditional logistics by delivering technical expertise, architectural support, and market intelligence to facilitate large-scale digital transformation projects across Southeast Asia.
Job Role:
The company is currently entering a strategic Southeast Asia expansion phase, with an immediate priority to revitalize and scale its Indonesian operations while gradually extending its footprint across other regional markets. The Indonesian hub is positioned as a key anchor for regional growth, integrating global operational standards with local market dynamics to strengthen the company’s presence and competitiveness in the ICT distribution landscape.
This role is designed for an entrepreneurially driven executive who will lead the transformation and growth of the regional business. The Regional Business Director will be responsible for identifying untapped B2B market opportunities, securing strategic distribution partnerships for next-generation technology solutions, and building a high-performance regional team from the ground up. Beyond managing operations, the position focuses on reconstructing the Indonesian business foundation while architecting a scalable expansion strategy across the broader Southeast Asian market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regional Business Transformation: Architect and lead the "rebirth" of stagnant regional operations by implementing high-level sales methodologies, vetting current accounts, and identifying high-growth ICT segments across Southeast Asia.
- Strategic Distribution Leadership: Strengthen and expand partnerships with global ICT vendors and tier-1 master distributors to secure exclusive distribution rights for next-generation hardware and cloud solutions.
- Regional Market Expansion: Act as a "Chief Growth Officer" to identify and capture untapped commercial opportunities across Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, leveraging a deep regional network.
- Talent & Organizational Architecture: Recruit, mentor, and lead a new high-caliber sales and product management team, fostering a culture of executive excellence, accountability, and high performance.
- Executive HQ Liaison: Serve as the primary strategic bridge between Southeast Asian operations and the Global HQ in China, translating regional market dynamics into actionable corporate strategies.
Candidate Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
- Experience & Regional Leadership: Minimum 10+ years of executive leadership in ICT distribution or large-scale System Integration (SI), with proven experience managing multi-country operations in Southeast Asia, especially strong familiarity with the Indonesian market.
- Regional P&L & Business Management: Expertise in managing multi-country Profit & Loss, including budgeting, forecasting, margin optimization, and reporting to Global HQ.
- ICT Ecosystem & Supply Chain Expertise: Deep knowledge of the ICT distribution lifecycle (cloud infrastructure, enterprise hardware, system integration), regional supply chain strategy, import/export regulations, logistics, and multi-tier vendor management.
- Strategic Sales & Partnerships: High-level negotiation and relationship-building skills in Mandarin and English, capable of engaging C-suite stakeholders and global ICT principals to secure exclusive distribution rights.
- Business Transformation & Leadership: Proven ability in business turnaround, organizational restructuring, and building high-performance regional teams from scratch.
- Professional Competencies: Entrepreneurial resilience, strategic “hunter” mindset, cultural intelligence bridging Chinese corporate expectations with Southeast Asian business nuances, analytical decisiveness, and strong executive presence.
