This role requires the candidate to work in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Client Overview:
The company is a high-tech manufacturer specializing in high-strength industrial geosynthetics and protective materials. Its production ecosystem focuses on high-tenacity polyester geogrids, mining safety materials, and industrial protection products, which are critical for infrastructure, mining safety, and healthcare-adjacent protection sectors globally.
As a market leader with a presence across Asia, Europe, and North America, the company is currently expanding its manufacturing footprint in Vietnam. The Vietnam plant serves as a strategic regional hub, utilizing advanced warp knitting technology from world-class machinery providers. This expansion is part of the company’s Global Growth Initiative, aimed at bringing cutting-edge industrial protection technology closer to international markets while maintaining strict adherence to global safety and quality regulations.
Job Role:
To support this growth, the company is seeking technical experts who have direct experience with high-end German and industrial textile machinery to lead the machinery maintenance and internal mechanics in Vietnam. As the Maintenance Manager, you are the technical "guardian" of the Vietnam plant. This role requires specialized technical knowledge beyond general mechanical expertise.
You are responsible for the uptime, calibration, and long-term reliability of high-value industrial machinery. Your mission is to ensure that the facility’s technical infrastructure is robust enough to support 24/7 production goals, minimizing unplanned downtime through strategic asset management and high-level technical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Lifecycle & Reliability: Manage the technical health of the entire machinery fleet to ensure all machines operate at peak precision.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM) Architecture: Design, implement, and oversee a rigorous PM schedule that maximizes OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and extends the lifespan of critical production assets.
- Technical Escalation: Act as the lead expert for complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic failures, resolving technical issues beyond the capacity of the local technician team.
- Spare Parts & Inventory Strategy: Organize and manage a local inventory of critical components and specialized tooling, coordinating with international vendors to ensure a steady supply of spare parts.
- Facility & Utility Oversight: Responsible for the continuous operation of plant infrastructure, including high-voltage power systems, HVAC, water treatment, and air compression units.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all machinery and facility modifications meet global safety standards and local Vietnamese environmental and occupational health regulations.
Candidate Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Automation.
- Experience: 5+ years in industrial maintenance, with at least 3 years in Warp Knitting or Technical Textile environments, including managing high-end industrial textile machinery.
- Precision Mechanical & Process Expertise: Expert in mechanical calibration, including synchronizing needles, guide bars, sinkers, tension, and let-off systems to ensure consistent quality of industrial-grade fabrics.
- Electrical & Control Systems: Hands-on experience with textile control systems (PLC, servomotors, frequency inverters), including troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical issues.
- Preventative Maintenance & Spare Parts Management: Design and implement PM schedules balancing high-volume production with critical lubrication and part-replacement cycles; manage critical inventory and coordinate sourcing of specialized components from international vendors.
- Root Cause Analysis & Quality Oversight: Proficient in identifying root causes of fabric defects originating from mechanical or electrical failures.
- Utility & Facility Management: Oversight of plant-wide utilities including air compressors, high-voltage electrical panels, HVAC, and other systems critical to textile production.
- Language & Mobility: Professional fluency in English for reports and technical communication; willingness to reside long-term in Vietnam to support regional operations.
