This allows for localized production and efficient distribution to neighboring markets, with the vision to replicate domestic success by establishing a strong, modern distribution network across the ASEAN region.
Job Role:
The Sales Regional General Manager (Malaysia) is the strategic leader responsible for replicating the organization’s domestic success within the Malaysian market. Reporting directly to the Sales Director at Headquarters, you will lead the transition from a "new entrant" to a dominant market player by building a robust, high-efficiency distribution network from the ground up.
Your role is to act as the primary bridge between the organization’s global supply chain (leveraging the new production base in Indonesia) and the local Malaysian retail landscape. You will be tasked with navigating a competitive and culturally diverse market, ensuring that the snack and beverage portfolio becomes a household staple through aggressive outlet expansion and superior dealer management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Market Expansion: Work closely with the Sales Director to develop and secure key market distributors across Malaysia, focusing on outlet expansion and robust channel infrastructure.
- Operational Excellence: Lead the development of localized industrial marketing strategies and oversee daily sales operations to ensure regional corporate objectives are met.
- Team Leadership & Training: Set up and manage a professional sales team; implement rigorous training programs, performance evaluations, and talent selection processes to improve the team's professional structure.
- Dealer System Management: Evaluate and refine the dealer structure to ensure a high-performing partner network, aligning the multi-channel system with Group standards.
- Budgetary Oversight: Manage marketing expense investments based on HQ budget indicators, ensuring sales activities are cost-effective and resources are utilized for maximum regional growth.
- Localized Business Insight: Tailor sales strategies based on deep knowledge of Malaysian customs and eating habits to promote brand integration.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing Management, or a related field
- 8–10 years of experience in Sales and Business Development, including at least 3 years in Regional Sales strategic or high leadership roles
- Minimum 5 years in large-scale FMCG Food industry, with at least 2 years of sales management experience in the Malaysia market
- Proven ability in market research, channel development, and managing distributor structures
- Skilled in blank market analysis and developing/expanding unfamiliar sales channels
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, English, and Malay
