We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our multidisciplinary team in Moratuwa. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality clinical care to children with diverse special educational needs (SEN). Beyond direct therapy, the Senior SLT will act as a clinical lead, providing expert advice and mentorship to therapists across our satellite centres to ensure a unified standard of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Excellence & Direct Therapy
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for children with a range of conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and developmental delays.
- Design, implement, and monitor evidence-based, individualized intervention plans.
- Deliver high-quality 1:1 and group therapy sessions focused on communication, feeding, and social skills.
- Collaborate closely with parents and caregivers to provide home-based strategies and support.
2. Regional Advisory & Mentorship
- Serve as the primary clinical point of contact for Speech and Language Therapists across multiple centres.
- Provide regular clinical supervision, case consultations, and peer reviews to junior staff.
- Conduct periodic site visits or virtual check-ins to ensure clinical protocols are being followed at other locations.
- Lead internal workshops and training sessions to upskill the wider therapeutic team.
3. Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration
- Work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Special Educators to ensure a holistic approach to child development.
- Contribute to the development of centre-wide policies and best practices for special needs care in the Sri Lankan context.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy from a recognized institution.
- Experience: A minimum of 3–4 years of clinical experience, specifically working with the pediatric special needs population.
- Registration: Must be registered (or eligible for registration) with the relevant healthcare professional council in Sri Lanka.
- Skills: Fluency in Sinhala and/or Tamil; strong command of English is essential for reporting and inter-centre communication. Proven ability to lead and advise a team of healthcare professionals. Deep understanding of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) methods.
