Reporting to the Inventory Manager, the Inventory Auditor plays an important role in keeping our inventory accurate and running smoothly. In this position, you’ll help ensure stock records are up to date, identify any discrepancies, and work to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
You’ll collaborate with teams across the business, including Warehouse, Procurement, and Finance, to support strong inventory control practices and help improve the way we manage stock. Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out regular inventory audits to make sure stock levels match records and everything is accurate and up to date.
- Perform physical stock counts, compare them with system records, and look into any differences.
- Investigate discrepancies such as missing, damaged, or misplaced items, and help resolve them quickly.
- Review inventory data to spot trends, patterns, or potential risks, and suggest ways to improve processes.
- Work closely with the Warehouse team to support proper storage, labeling, and handling of stock to reduce loss or damage.
- collaborate with inter departmental teams to ensure incoming stock is recorded correctly and on time, and that inventory values are accurate.
- Reconcile inventory with financial records and assist with reporting.
- Help develop and maintain clear inventory audit processes and documentation in line with company policies and standards.
- Contribute to cross-team projects aimed at improving inventory accuracy, efficiency, and overall supply chain performance.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices and share ideas for improvements, training, or system enhancements.
Qualifications,Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience working in the retail industry.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify** **and resolve inventory discrepancies and process inefficiencies.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools, as well as advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work with large volumes of data.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present audit findings and recommendations.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to inventory management and auditing.
