Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end engineering responsibility of projects, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality standards are met.
- Drive delivery of digital banking platforms, payment systems, core banking integrations, and customer-facing financial applications.
- Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, secure SDLC, and banking compliance standards (e.g., auditability, traceability, data protection).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and delivery roadmaps.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risks, dependencies, and blockers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead integration initiatives with core banking systems (e.g., Temenos, Finacle, Flexcube), payment gateways, and third-party financial services via APIs and middleware.
- Provide technical oversight on architecture, design, tools driving the Engineering Excellence ensuring greater quality, scalability , maintainability and reliability of the applications.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear and consistent updates on progress and risks.
- Drive resource planning, team allocation, and workload management.
- Track and report on delivery metrics, team performance, and project health.
- Lead, mentor, and manage engineering teams to drive high performance and accountability.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6–10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least , 2–3 years in a leadership/delivery role (Preferred within banking, fintech, or BFSI domains).
- Proven experience managing end-to-end complex technical projects.
- Strong understanding of agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Solid technical background in software development, architecture, and system design.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, coaching, and performance management.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Familiarity with banking regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, local central bank regulations, audit requirements).
- Ability to balance technical decision-making with delivery priorities.
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong understanding of core banking ecosystems and integration patterns (API-led, ESB, microservices, event-driven architectures).
- Experience working with core banking platforms such as Temenos, Finacle, Flexcube, or similar systems is highly desirable.
- Candidates with Fintec/BFS experience will be given priority.
