The Assistant Engineer – Service & Maintenance (Electronics) is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electronic systems and equipment. The role ensures high system uptime, quick resolution of technical issues, and excellent service delivery to clients while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Service & Maintenance
- Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of electronic systems and equipment.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
- Diagnose faults and perform timely repairs on-site and/or at the workshop.
- Ensure minimal downtime and quick turnaround for service requests.
Technical Troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve hardware and basic software-related issues.
- Analyze recurring faults and recommend long-term solutions.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when required.
Customer Support
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients.
- Maintain professional communication with customers and ensure service satisfaction.
- Educate clients on proper usage and basic troubleshooting of systems.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain service reports, maintenance logs, and job completion records.
- Update service tickets and ensure proper documentation of issues and resolutions.
- Track spare parts usage and report requirements for replenishment.
Quality & Compliance
- Adhere to company standards, safety guidelines, and service protocols.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with quality expectations.
- Support audits and inspections when required.
Essential Skills
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in electronics service, maintenance, or technical support.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge may also be considered.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in electronic systems.
- Basic understanding of circuits, control systems, and embedded devices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and in field environments.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, reporting tools).
