General Manager (Paper Manufacturing)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead overall business operations across Marketing/CSD, PPIC, Production, Quality Control, Warehouse, Engineering, and Utility departments.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company business objectives.
  • Analyze Profit & Loss (P&L) performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and profitability improvement.
  • Ensure alignment between market demand, raw material availability, and production scheduling.
  • Drive operational efficiency through Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
  • Oversee production performance, productivity, quality standards, and operational KPIs.
  • Lead maintenance strategy including preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve machine reliability and OEE.
  • Ensure implementation of ERP systems and data-driven operational reporting.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives including Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT and real-time production monitoring systems.
  • Maintain high standards of workplace safety, compliance, and operational discipline.
  • Lead and manage a workforce of over 500 employees.
  • Build strong coordination between executive leadership and operational teams.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Master’s degree (MBA or Operations Management) is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in senior management roles.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale manufacturing operations.
  • Strong track record in operational transformation and change management.
  • Experience in paper manufacturing, packaging, chemicals, FMCG, or similar industries is highly preferred.
  • Experience handling export markets or multinational manufacturing environments is an advantage.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen, QCC, 5S, Six Sigma).
  • Understanding of global quality standards such as ISO 9001, SQP, or IATF.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management including OEE, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance.
  • Proficient in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and operational reporting capabilities.

Leadership Competencies

  • Strong decision-making skills under high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills (5 Why, Fishbone Analysis).
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.

  • APICS Certification (CPIM/CSCP)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt
  • Lead Auditor Certification
  • Occupational Health & Safety Certification
