The Opportunity

Are you a technically gifted finance professional looking to play a pivotal role in a well-established corporate environment? We are looking for a Technical Powerhouse Accountant to join our Head Office team at Vauxhall Street.

This is a strategic expansion role designed for a "Number Two" who excels in the nuances of modern accounting standards and complex reporting. You will work directly under our Senior Accountant—a respected veteran of over 20 years—to streamline our financial operations and ensure the highest levels of compliance across our diversified group.

The Mandate

Your primary mission is to serve as the technical backbone of the department. While our Senior Accountant provides the strategic leadership and historical institutional knowledge, you will provide the formal technical expertise required to navigate evolving IFRS/LKAS standards, tax landscapes, and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with IFRS/LKAS standards.
• Compliance & Taxation: Manage the end-to-end execution of statutory requirements, including VAT, SSCL, and APIT filings.
• Audit Coordination: Act as the primary liaison for internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is technically sound and queries are resolved efficiently.
• Management Accounting: Assist in budgeting, variance analysis, and the development of KPIs across different business units within the group.
• Systems Management: Optimize our ERP environment to ensure data integrity and automated reporting accuracy.

The Ideal Profile

Technical Qualifications:

• Education: Part-Qualified or Fully Qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or CA Sri Lanka.
• Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience, preferably within a multi-company or conglomerate setting.
• ERP Proficiency: Proven experience working within a robust ERP system is essential.
• Advanced Tools: Mastery of Advanced Excel (VBA, Power Query, or complex modeling) is highly desirable.
