Description of Logistic Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and checking import documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, BL, and related documents.
- Assist in opening Letters of Credit (LC) and processing TT payments with banks as per management instructions.
- Coordinate and follow up with clearing agents for customs clearance of imported goods.
- Follow up on shipment arrivals and delivery of goods to stores/warehouse.
- Assist in handling import insurance and company insurance documentation and renewals.
- Maintain proper files and records of import, banking, customs, and insurance documents.
- Communicate with suppliers, freight forwarders, banks, and internal departments regarding import-related matters.
- Assist in general administrative work related to the trading operation.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
- Preferably candidates residing in Colombo area could apply (Between 30km distance from Hometown and Office Location).
Key Requirements:
- 0–1 year experience in an import/export or trading company will be an advantage.
- Diploma or part qualification in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of import procedures, LC, TT, and customs documentation is an added advantage.
- Age below 30 years.
