We're looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst – Product to join the team building Rooster. In this role, you'll collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to discover business needs, define product requirements, and deliver solutions that create real value for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Presales & Discovery
- Lead client discovery, running structured sessions to understand a prospect's business processes, systems, and pain points, and assessing fit against product lines.
- Own solution scoping, translating discovery findings into a clear view of what's in-scope out of the box, what requires configuration, and what would need custom development.
- Support proposals and pitches, working alongside Sales to shape solution narratives, scope documents, and pricing conversations with accurate, defensible detail.
- Maintain discovery frameworks, including questionnaires and evaluation templates, refining them as the product and target verticals evolve.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Drive client conversations across the pre-sales, pilot, and early implementation stages, building trust as the primary point of contact for business and process questions.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, internally and externally, keeping scope, timelines, and product limitations transparent throughout the sales and delivery cycle.
- Product & Requirements
- Convert discovery into requirements, producing structured business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the engineering team.
- Contribute to MVP and roadmap scoping for product lines, flagging recurring client needs as candidate features.
- Work with delivery partners to validate feasibility and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Sales & Marketing Alignment
- Bridge product and go-to-market, ensuring Sales and Marketing messaging reflects actual product capability and roadmap timing.
- Feed market and client insight back into product strategy, surfacing patterns across deals that should inform pricing, packaging, or build priorities.
- Documentation, Reporting & Mentorship
- Maintain clear documentation of business requirements, process maps, and scoping decisions, and report progress to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior business analysts, supporting their growth and embedding consistent discovery and documentation standards across the team.
Requirements:
- Experience: 3+ years in business analysis, with direct exposure to pre-sales, client discovery, or solution consulting ideally in ERP, SaaS, or enterprise software.
- Client-facing skill: comfortable leading discovery conversations directly with founders, C-level, and operational stakeholders.
- Analytical grounding: strong process mapping, requirements gathering, and gap analysis skills, with the ability to move from a messy client conversation to a structured spec.
- Commercial awareness: understands how scope, customization, and pricing interact, and can work credibly alongside Sales on deal shaping.
- Domain exposure: familiarity with ERP/business systems (Oodo/Dynamics/Frappe/ERPNext exposure a plus) and SME operations in emerging markets is an advantage.
- Communication & leadership: excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to lead cross-functional project teams and mentor junior staff.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; BA or product management certifications are a plus.
