Finance Manager
CPL Group is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Manager to oversee the financial management and reporting of our Joint Venture businesses. This senior finance position plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, supporting strategic decision-making, maintaining compliance with joint venture agreements, and strengthening business performance across the portfolio.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will partner closely with business leaders, joint venture partners, and operational teams to deliver accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and robust financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full financial accounting and reporting functions for assigned joint venture entities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Monitor compliance with joint venture agreements and ensure adherence to governance requirements.
- Prepare management reports, board reports, and financial presentations for senior management and JV partners.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for JV businesses.
- Analyse financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow reporting, and working capital requirements.
- Oversee tax compliance requirements, including GST, corporate tax, and statutory reporting obligations.
- Coordinate external and internal audits and act as the key finance contact for auditors.
- Ensure effective financial controls, risk management practices, and adherence to company policies.
- Partner with operational leaders to support business initiatives, investments, and growth opportunities.
- Mentor and support junior finance team members where required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within large corporate, retail, FMCG, or joint venture environments.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and statutory compliance.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing audits and stakeholder relationships.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with multi-company or group structures will be highly regarded.
