The Inventory Officer – Supply Chain is responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy across the business by ensuring the integrity of stock records and inventory movements. This role supports effective inventory control through the timely execution of cycle counts, bin location updates in Pronto, investigation and resolution of stock discrepancies, verification of high-value items during receiving prior to put-away, validation of picking slips before invoicing, and active participation in cycle counts, stocktake preparations, and annual stocktakes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular bin inspections to identify damaged, expired, or quarantined stock, ensuring inventory is stored accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support stocktake readiness by completing all inventory preparation activities, including maintaining and updating close-expiry forecasts across the Medicines, Healthcare, and Grocery categories.
  • Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy by actively participating in daily, weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycle counts and stocktakes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of inventory data.
  • Identify put-away and picking discrepancies, perform required bin location updates in Pronto, and escalate issues to Team Leaders for verification and resolution.
  • Investigate inventory variances relating to Virtual Locations, provide accurate findings, and work collaboratively with relevant teams to resolve stock discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a similar inventory or warehouse role. Experience within the Retail or FMCG industry will be highly regarded.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and mathematical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while contributing to the achievement of operational objectives.
  • Experience using inventory management systems, with proficiency in Pronto ERP being highly desirable.
