Role Summary
Seeking an experienced Manager/Senior Engineer – Design & Project – HVAC to lead the HVAC system design and project management team. The role combines technical design, project coordination, site supervision, and client/stakeholder management. The selected candidate will report to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead detailed HVAC design (sizing, layouts, equipment selection, ducting/piping, control strategies) for commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and industrial projects.
- Develop and review drawings, specifications, coordination drawings, and technical submittals.
- Prepare technical calculations (heat loads, psychrometrics, duct/pipe sizing) and ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
- Produce and review BOQs, coordinate with QS for tender/bid submissions.
- Manage project execution: coordinate with procurement, installation teams, subcontractors, and consultants; monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Conduct site supervision, commissioning oversight, and handover activities; resolve technical issues promptly.
- Liaise with clients, architects, MEP consultants, and regulatory authorities; ensure timely reporting and client satisfaction.
- Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement in design and delivery processes.
- Travel to sites as required.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5–8 years’ relevant HVAC/MEP experience with proven track record in design and project management of chillers, VRF, and precision AC systems.
- Strong competence in HVAC calculations, system selection, and detailed drawing preparation.
- Proficiency with HVAC design tools (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD, HAP/other simulation tools) and MS Office.
- Experience managing medium to large projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and handling client communication.
- Excellent communication skills in Sinhala and English.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel island wide.
Desirable
- Experience with government/BOI tenders and CIDA project processes.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability best practices.
