We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced professional to join our Faculty of Engineering as a Lab Assistant / Lab Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management, safety and development of the Electrical & Electronics and Mechatronics laboratories, while providing technical support for practical training, student projects and research.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage laboratory operations, equipment, scheduling, maintenance and safety.
• Support laboratory sessions, practical training and demonstrations.
• Develop practical activities and laboratory resources.
• Support student projects, prototypes, research and innovation activities.
• Assist with laboratory development, procurement, commissioning and equipment maintenance.
• Contribute to quality assurance, accreditation and industry engagement.

Key Requirements

• Higher National Diploma or Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation & Control Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant academic, laboratory, engineering or industrial experience.
• Practical expertise in areas such as PLC/automation, electronics, embedded systems, instrumentation, control, robotics, electrical machines or mechatronics will be an advantage.
• Strong practical, technical, organisational and communication skills.
