Primary Objective
To support the effective management of inventory operations by ensuring accurate stock control, maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimizing stock variances, and coordinating inventory activities to support efficient business operations and customer service requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing and coordinating daily inventory operations to ensure accurate stock control and availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely stock replenishment to meet business requirements.
- Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits to maintain stock accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, stock variances, and inventory-related issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all stock movements are properly documented.
- Support warehouse and distribution teams in optimizing inventory flow and storage practices.
- Prepare inventory reports, analysis, and forecasts for management review.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of inventory control policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and operations teams to ensure efficient stock management.
- Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and damaged stock and recommend appropriate actions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and inventory management procedures.
- Supervise and provide guidance to inventory personnel to maintain high performance and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance inventory efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support the Inventory Manager in achieving inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and business objectives.
- Act in the Inventory Manager's capacity during periods of absence, as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Inventory Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Proven experience in stock management, inventory reconciliation, and inventory reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising teams and coordinating inventory-related activities.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles, stock auditing, and warehouse operations.
- Experience using inventory management systems, ERP systems, or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for inventory tracking and reporting.
- Proven ability to analyse inventory data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
- Experience in demand planning, stock forecasting, and inventory optimization would be an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements within warehouse and inventory environments is desirable.
