Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, diagnose, treat, and prevent hearing, speech, language, cognitive, and communication disorders.
- Administer hearing and speech/language evaluations, tests, and examinations.
- Evaluate test results and medical information to determine treatment plans.
- Recommend and provide hearing amplification devices and cochlear implant tuning.
- Develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Assist individuals in using augmentative or alternative communication methods.
- Teach patients to improve communication skills and fulfill their roles in society.
- Counsel and instruct clients in techniques to improve speech or hearing impairment.
- Maintain accurate records of patient evaluations, progress, and treatments.
- Conduct training programs for external parties when necessary.
- Participate in research and report findings on speech or hearing topics.
- Plan and conduct prevention programs for clients.
- Refer clients to additional medical or educational services as needed.
- Advise educators and medical staff on speech and hearing topics.
- Educate and supervise Audiology/Speech Language Pathology students and healthcare personnel.
- Stay updated on new treatment methods and technology through conferences and training.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Audiology & Speech Language Pathology.
- Registration with the Speech and Language Therapy Council (SLMC) as an Audiologist & Speech Therapist.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of working experience in a similar capacity.
- Flexibility, dynamism, strong organizational skills, and engaging interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
