Job brief

We are looking for a talented Illustrator to create original pieces of digital artwork with more than one illustration style for digital applications and publications.

You will be expected to collaborate with internal stakeholders, copywriters, marketing and branding team to make sure you grasp and sketch out their business needs, messages and ideas into appealing illustrations with your creative skills that meet quality standards under ambitious deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design briefs with business, copywriters and/or marketing and branding team to identify their needs
• Define timelines
• Prepare rough POA according to requirements
• Combine hand-drawing and painting with digital media to create complete illustrations
• Adhere to already existing illustration styles and help in design extensions and refinements.
• Use colours, graphics, typography and effects to visualize each concept better
• Format or retouch images if required using relevant software
• Apply isometric techniques in Adobe Illustrator or relevant applications to add perspective to complex shapes
• Ensure that digital illustrations meet quality and colour standards
• Brainstorm with the design team to come up with new ideas, patterns and styles
• Stay up-to-date with new design techniques and software
• Collaborate with UX/UI designer for placement of artworks and layouts on applications, websites, presentations or reports, etc.

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven work experience as an Illustrator, Graphic Designer or similar role
• Demonstrable portfolio of illustrations, sketches and digital artworks
• Solid knowledge of image editing and digital sketching software, like Photoshop, Indesign and Adobe Illustrator
• Drawing skills with an attention to detail (both by hand and digital pen)
• Strong aesthetic and conceptual skills
• Ability to collaborate and meet deadlines
• Graduate or post-graduate degree in Design, Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Commercial Arts or relevant qualification
• Ability to present ideas to the leadership team
