Starting Salary: LKR 70,000/- (Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set and level of experience)

We’re looking for a Video Director with an eye for detail, strong storytelling skills, and great sense of good aesthetics to engage viewers. You’ll join a cross-functional team focused on developing content in support of sales communications initiatives at Pettah Effect.

Key Qualifications

• You have a passion for filmmaking, photography, design, and technology.
• You're conceptual thinker and problem solver who is wildly creative and also obsessively meticulous.
• An expert in all aspects of filmmaking, and are able to lead internal production teams as well as vendors, and direct professional and internal talent.
• Expert storyteller with a command of visual, communication, narrative, and motion design principles, including composition, framing, and timing.
• Flexible and can direct big productions as well as getting hands-on in smaller projects.
• Understanding of what makes content— everything from live action to motion graphics— engaging and successful across channels and audiences.
• Love keeping up with trends across all types of media associated with the entertainment, and social media.
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience in: cinematography, lighting, camera operation, sound recording, and video editing.
• Knowledgeable and hands-on experience with: RED cameras, RED RAW workflow, and ARRI cameras.
• Deep understanding of and excellent proficiency in: Final Cut Pro, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, and a diverse range of motion design software, plug-ins, techniques and approaches.
• A keen ability to build work as well as package and presenting creative solutions in an inspiring manner.
• Clear and concise communicator displaying strong organization and collaboration skills.
• Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as the need arises.

Description

• Build impactful edits and engage key audiences.
• Have the ability to visualize the project’s vision in the early conceptualization stage and continual ideation with the team throughout the edit.
• Work well with key partners to ensure successful execution throughout the post-production process.
• Direct teams to produce video content, as well as touch all aspects of production from ideation, to video shooting, and postproduction.
• Methodically assess and resolve technical and creative issues.
• Achieve high quality and continuity between multiple projects while working against aggressive deadlines.
• Actively maintain expertise in the latest technology trends, techniques, and tools related to post-production.

Editing (Additional Qualifications)

• You have a proficiency of editing platforms Davinci Resolve, Premiere, Avid.
• Experience and understanding of post-production workflows.
• Proficiency in supporting applications such as After Effects, Photoshop, Resolve.
• An understanding of compression guidelines to meet proper delivery specifications.
• Understanding of, and ability to run the creative review process.
• Knowing how to address creative notes (directly/indirectly) so as not to destroy the underlying structure of what works well.
• Ability to maintain a highly organized project, from initial edit through various localization deliveries.
• Expert editor through a wide variety of productions (TV, documentary, marketing/social, corporate).
• Comfortable with both live action and animation storytelling.
• Understanding of deliverables across multi-platforms and aspect ratios.
• Passion for story structure and an eye for detail.
• Forethought for the end-users’ experience.
• Strong collaboration skills, team-focused.
• Strong creative mind to work alone and deliver results.
• Understanding of time management and project breakdown.
• Ability to simplify communication (verbally and as a visual storyteller)
• Passionate about the brand brand and relentless in preserving its authenticity
